PATO PAEZ, CO-FOUNDER

Pato’s background in science cultivated his focus on the human experience of art, chiefly the way humans respond to its various elements including color, style, content, and structure. As a partner at The Commission Project, he thrives on the business and curatorial aspects of the art world, attracted to the unique value of every piece he finds and its ability to flourish in the most suitable environment.

Pato takes a scientific approach to his work, employing visual perception and neuroaesthetics as a means to understanding art and advising clients.

MICHAEL SOUTER CO-FOUNDER

After many years as an artist experimenting with various media, Michael draws from extensive experience in creative direction and branding to help identify the crucial elements of a brand that can be translated into art. The way art can elevate a brand’s aspirations and express its emotional qualities creates a powerful marketing tool that is defining today’s evolution of brand activation, and Michael’s expertise provides the high-level strategy necessary to ensure a concise, authentic result.

Bryan is a writer based in London, combining years of editorial experience in fashion and culture media with extensive work in creative marketing. His specializes in brand strategy, crafting remarkable stories tailored to unique audiences.

MARCOS NADAI, PHD, CONTRIBUTOR

Marcos holds a B.Sc. in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Psychology: Human Evolution and Cognition from the University of the Balearic Islands, where he also teaches. He is the Executive Editor of Empirical Studies of the Arts, and serves on the editorial board of Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts. His research is devoted to characterizing the psychological, neural, and evolutionary foundations of humans’ capacity for esthetic appreciation and creation, and has won numerous awards including the Baumgarten Awardfrom the International Association of Empirical Aesthetics in 2014.

SUCHI REDDY, CONTRIBUTOR

Suchi is the founder of New York-based Reddymade Architecture and Design. Her ethos is informed by neuroaesthetics. Reddy’s strong belief that design, calibrated carefully to the human, positively influences well-being, creativity, and productivity informs the firm’s diverse range of projects from conception to details. Most recently, neuroaesthetic principles were central to “A Space For Being,” a collaborative installation with Google, the International Arts + Minds Lab at Johns Hopkins University, and Muuto. MICHAEL R. SPICHER, PHD, CONTRIBUTOR

Michael works as a writer, researcher, editor, and philosopher, mainly focused on art and aesthetics. He has published articles on beauty, taste, esthetic experience, and state support of the arts. He teaches at Boston Architectural College and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and previously taught at University of South Carolina and Boston University. Along with his own writing projects, he is an editor for the Leonardo Electronic Almanac (published by MIT Press) as well as the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Committed to advocating and educating for the value of esthetics, he founded the Aesthetics Research Lab.
